Single phase conventional transformers:

U P Transformers (India) Pvt. Ltd. today one of UP’s oldest and most respected transformer manufacturer. In fact, UPT has standardized the design & concept for UPPCL and has been manufacturing single phase transformers for the past many years for Electrification of rural areas. Our single phase transformers manufactured with stepped core design is highly suitable for the distribution network in Rural India. These transformers, as compared to wound core transformers are more robust and have much higher life.

We use high CRGO steel for making transformer core which form a main component in every transformer and thereby ensuring less losses for our customers. Pre-core loss of each core is measured to ensure quality assurance.

The primary & secondary (HV/ LV) coils are fabricated using EC grade aluminium covered round / rectangular conductor with high grade insulation paper The insulation is designed to withstand the specified impulse level. Special care has been taken to select the conductor size so as to withstand over load conditions for certain durations.

The formed core is assembled with the HV /LV coils along with required insulation and core clamps. The whole assembly and it’s connections are made so robust so as to with stand short circuit jerks which are quite common in rural electrification in India.

Besides testing of the individual components, each transformer is tested as per agreed standards of acceptance. These tests include but are not limited to:

  • Turns ratio
  • Polarity
  • Exciting current and no load loss measurement
  • Impedance and load loss measurement
  • Induced over voltage test
  • Separate source voltage withstand test
  • Insulation resistance
  • Winding resistance

Approved on multiple standards
